Huyck Preserve (http://www.huyckpreserve.org) is located in the scenic hamlet of Rensselaerville NY and has been connecting people to nature for more than 80 years. Park at the Pond hill Rd. trailhead across from the Eldredge Education building.
We will first hike around Myosotis lake. There is a nice waterfall to see. Distance is 4-5 miles with no significant elevation, and up to 12 miles. The Huyck Preserve offers 12 miles of trails for hiking (skiing and snowshoeing seasonally). The trails are open dawn to dusk year-round for public use, giving hikers access to over 2000 acres of forest, field, and wetlands, including the Rensselaerville Falls, which cascade over 120 feet. Lake Myosotis is open to the public for kayaking and canoeing as well as fishing (year round).
Bring our micro spikes if needed depending on seasonal snow and ice.
